Stop Worrying…It Sucks

Getting things done is the best way to predict your weight loss.

But, you likely spend time in worrying about weight loss.

I won't lose this weight.

It's going to take forever.

Worry feels like you are doing something.

Worry is sandwiched between a few good and not so good decisions.

It makes things feel hard. You worry enough and you need that little cookie, bite of cake or bag of chips.

At the end of the week you weigh-in and the number reflects a lot of emotionally hard worry…and a few moments of relief from it.

But guess what we do? We REMEMBER how hard the week was. How much we worried.

Try this.

Make a list of things you WILL do each week to lose weight.

Nothing on that list can contain your SHOULD DO'S. It's what you will do no matter what.

Then stop worrying and focus on sticking to those things.

The biggest fail I see people do is this…

Make a list of things to do that in a perfect world they would work.

Add a few things everyone says they SHOULD do.

Struggle bus all week with worry.

Break because none of those things on the list took into consideration what you are willing to do.

I want you to finish this week full of doing things you were willing to do. Not the things you are worried you should be doing.

Get it done.

Weightloss happens when you do work. Not worrying about that work.

Thanks Corrine. I found you a few weeks ago and have been binge listening to all your podcasts and FB lives. For the first time, I feel truly committed to my self care and my success with weight loss.
I will commit to doing what I say and will do and stop breaking promises to myself.
This is the last time I’m starting to lose weight. This time I’m finishing it!

Thank you very much. I felt not understood. I knew I had something going wrong in my mind more than in my body. Reading this is like being naked in the mirror. Thank you very much. Regards from Lima Perú.

My first thought was, “Well Duh!” But then I realized this describes the last 10+years of my dieting attempts. I put in a heck of a lot of time and effort worrying and then justifying why I deserved that drink, treat, etc.. But even though I took little action I still kept hoping that one day I’d wake up and a miracle switch would have flipped and my problems would be solved? How dumb does that sound? I’m generally not a stupid person but I’ve been thinking that way for years?? Thank you for the figurative reality slap upside the head!
