Episode 51 What the Heck Is a TDL?
Listen On
Today’s episode teaches the importance of what we call the thought download. A thought download, or TDL as we call it in the Tribe, is a journal entry. It’s your daily dear diary. TDLs are the backbone of what we teach, because you’re not overeating because there’s food in front of you. You’re overeating because of what you’re thinking.
Crazy, right? So how do you figure out what you’re thinking? You write. Sometimes you just write random stuff and sometimes you write about what’s bothering you. Sometimes you write about what happened during the day and sometimes you write about what’s great in your world.
Unloading your brain of it’s thoughts and actually SEEING what you are telling yourself helps you figure out why you feel great, why you feel terrible, and why you’re overeating.
I TDL every morning. So does Kathy. I use the TDL to set my priorities for the day. Sometimes I have shit to unload too! I feel so much lighter when I’m finished and when my day it laid out for me. And I don’t lay out just the actions, I decide how I’m going to show up.
This podcast teaches not only how to TDL but what to do when you don’t know what to write about. There’s always something, whether you want to look at it or not, to put on paper.
