Ep 40: Restriction vs Choice

Listen On

Many of my clients have a fear of planning something fun to eat.

They believe it will lead to a binge, that going off plan will make them lose control, and that they’ll stop losing weight.

In today’s podcast we talk about the importance of Joy Food. Learning to plan and eat foods that are considered “treats” is a critical part of gaining confidence and control in your weight loss efforts.

Allowing foods that are not on plan, once a week, when they are planned and enjoyed, takes you out of diet mentality and teaches you how to choose joy foods without guilt or regret.

You are not eating in response to stress or anger or boredom. You are in control.

Choosing when and what you eat as your joy food means the decision is not reactive – it’s a choice. Choice equals control and control develops confidence.
